Ultimate Personal Development Podcasts

Personal development is a lifelong process in which a person tries to better themselves by assessing their skills and qualities. It is helpful to help people set new goals in life and maximise their potential.

Personal development podcasts 2020 help us keep track of our personal development goals and offer motivation. Self development opportunities may also be realised from listening to podcasts.

It is important to remember that bettering yourself doesn’t mean just going to the gym or drinking some water; the starting point is in the brain.

Sure, going to the gym or drinking water can be helpful, but if done without the awareness of what personal development is, or without a coach/mentor, it won’t get you anywhere. Don’t compromise on investing in yourself. Here’s why investing in yourself and personal growth is not selfish.

Maslow is an American psychologist, best known for creating Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, a theory of psychological health predicated on fulfilling an innate human need in priority, ending in self-actualization.

Self-development is at the top of the pyramid.

According to Maslow, all individuals need to see themselves as competent and autonomous, and every person has limitless room for growth.

Everyone’s ultimate need is to become everything they can become and reach their full potential as a unique human being.

To reach the maximum potential, being in touch with your feelings, experiencing life fully and with total concentration is essential.

Are there people qualified to help you get in touch with your feelings?

There are plenty of qualified therapists out there who will help you reach that goal, and some of these people are so passionate about their job that they do that for free.

You can even go to your “therapy session” and do your laundry, or cook your dinner!

Have you ever heard of podcasts? If not, I’m about to change your entire life.

A podcast is a series of spoken words; audio episodes focused on a particular topic or theme.

These audio files’ primary purpose is to entertain and educate you on a specific subject; that’s what makes them different from an ordinary radio station.

Radio stations do not focus on one subject; the hosts change the subject quickly; songs are playing, some radio stations even play games now. A podcast’s primary purpose is to entertain you and never jump from one topic to the other because the theme needs to be consistent throughout the entire episode.

Isn’t it amazing that you can expand your mind on the way to work?

Here are my top podcasts 2020

Top five podcasts

best personal development podcasts

1. Joyful Living by Quinn Curtis

Quinn Curtis is an entrepreneur, Brand Strategist, and Speaker who hosts a podcast on self-love and personal development.

She talks about happiness and how to find it within yourself; her podcast is a self-reflection journey that will leave you more knowledgeable and more aware of yourself.

Her podcast is excellent if growing and becoming a better person is something you always wanted to do but never had the chance to because responsibilities held you back.
She also has many guests over to hear many views and decides which one is more relatable for you.

Also, she is a female host, and it is essential to support women in an industry where men are the majority.

2. Motivate yourself by Richard Nicholls

A British psychologist asks the question: “What makes us tick as a person?”

Your feelings, opinions, and concerns make you the person you are; you behave a certain way because your inner life affects your outer life.

In his podcast, Richard Nicholls teaches how to unlock the mind and be in a better mental space; how to appreciate the little things because all those small things adding up make up the big picture.

It is a very particular podcast because it is grounded in reality; there are not high concepts, and if there are, they are broken down to concepts anyone can understand.

Each episode is about twenty minutes, so if you are one of those whose attention span is less than an hour, this podcast is for you.

Richard Nicholls is a soft-spoken man; you wouldn’t think of him as a coach because our idea of a coach is someone who shouts at you while you’re running on the treadmill.

The only downside is that the upload is inconsistent, but there are more than 300 hundred episodes up to date if you’re just starting out.

3. The Tim Ferris Show by Tim Ferris

Tim Ferris is an American entrepreneur who hosts an educational podcast on self-development; his podcast, contrary to the name, is not self-centered.

He has many guests over, and all the people he invites are the ones who usually stay behind the scenes.

He dives deep into the subject with his guest, gives advice on different techniques, and the interesting thing about him is that he has the reputation of being the “human guinea pig.”

All the techniques he talks about are tested on him beforehand.

Another interesting thing about Tim Ferris is that he is the investor and advisor of many social-medias everyone uses daily, such as Facebook, Spotify, Duolingo, etc.

His podcasts go from one-hour minimum to three maximums.

So, if you’re not into long episodes, he might not be the right match for you; but you can always pause the podcast and come back later.

4.The Chase Jarvis show by Chase Jarvis

Chase Jarvis is an American photographer, director, artist, and entrepreneur.

His podcast’s name may fool you; he has many guests over, and all the people he invites are famous entrepreneurs who built their career with no one’s help.

A few famous people he invited over are Richard Branson, Gary Vaynerchuk, Seth Godin, Daymon John, and many more.

Chase Jarvis’s podcast is a relaxing, educational podcast that will teach you how to grow and discover yourself; it is crucial to be in tune with your feelings if you want to be successful, and all his guests are successful people.

Listening to their point of view and taking inspiration from them will make you as successful as them.

The podcast’s episodes are about one-hour/one-and-a-half hour long, a reasonable time to listen to someone tell you how to reach your maximum potential.

5.One Extraordinary Marriage by Join Tony and Alisa DiLorenzo

Two people in a relationship host this podcast, specifically married.

They discuss the married life, the struggles they go through as a couple and as individuals, sex, and how to stay close if you have children.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Still, our understanding of love and relationships usually comes from our parents.

Especially if we come from a background where the parents are divorced or unhappy, our love experience is limited.

If you’re in a long- or short-term relationship or not even in a relationship, this podcast is for you. Understanding what a healthy relationship is, give you the tools to better yourself.

So, maybe you’re a visual person, and you get distracted easily; podcasts come in video format.

You can do chores, have a podcast in the background, and get quickly bored by duties; you can sit down and look at your temporary coaches.

Body language is a big part of coaching someone, so having a visual might help some people.

  2. Nice opening video! Surrounding yourself with positive people is really important for a decent quality of life. Podcasts are really the in-thing and I listen to them both in my car or on You Tube as an alternative to the doom and gloom on television.
I will certainly check on two of your recommendations – Tim Ferris and Chase Jarvis as I am interested in the entrepreneur angle.
